Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!

Well, it's been a while since I've written. Mostly because I've been quite busy right after work, and by the time I'm finished my prepping, I just want to get home, and we don't have the internet at home. But there's a story there. We called a company who provides satellite internet service, and we had to wait 4 weeks for them to call back to book an appointment to come to our house and see if we were within range of the tower. I don't think that I've ever had to wait on a waiting list to get a call to wait again. Anyhow, by the time they actually showed up (2 weeks later), it appears that there's a hill blocking the signal, so we'd have to set up a tower to the tune of $1000. Yikes! So, we still don't have internet. Sigh!

Let's see, what else is going on. Thanksgiving was good. We had two turkey dinners, and we're going to have a third with my parents this weekend. I do believe that I gained some weight this weekend, but I'm avoiding my scale (yes, I know many would take offense at this remark, but even thin people have their fat days). But I did get my cat to stand on a scale. He's 8 pounds. What a cutie!

Oh, here's an interesting tidbit. The other day, Oscar (the cat) got scared by Trent because when he came he was carrying an armload of stuff that fell into the house, and Oscar bolted into the bedroom. When I went to see if Oscar was ok, there was a large tuft of hair that looked like it was spontaneously shed on the floor. It was the weirdest thing I've seen (yes, I've lived a sheltered life).

Well, I guess that's enough mundanity for one day. I hope you all had a good turkey day, and I hope to hear from you!

Hey Sara, did I e-mail you lately? I was meaning to, and I can't remember if I did. Ahh, the wonderful benefits of stress and fatigue!

Dags,
You stayed up that late!? Good for you! I'm actually kinda jealous. When I got home, it was 11:30, and I was feeling old because I thought that was really late!

here's an interesting thought... maybe, just maybe it wasn't oscars hair, but the lock of hair from his long lost love... he had been holding it close to him for so long... until fear made him lose control - and lose the only thing he'd been able to hold close to his heart since his heart first learned it could love... just a thought :D
